Summer vacation is almost over, and this year I truly enjoyed it. No time pressure, no stress, nothing to worry about, and sipping on a cocktail on a sunny terrace somewhere lovely—it was perfect. It’s easy to forget, though, that soon it will be time to buy the new school books for your son or daughter.
The last weeks of the previous school year were quite tense. Will the children move up to the next class? Or have they chosen a new direction that suits them better? Some might be changing schools or starting secondary school for the first time—a whole new phase in life. That means many classes and even more learning materials: books, books, and more books. So how do we keep them neat and in good condition?
Curious about what the kids will need to study this coming year, I went through quite a few books. Most were new, while some were used but still in good condition. As parents, we know our children best—and let’s face it, most of the time they aren’t the best caretakers, especially when it comes to their school books.
Daughters, in particular, often choose a pretty bag to go to school with; the days of old-fashioned school bags are long gone! Today, those bulky, unattractive bags have been replaced by two or three stylish alternatives to show off, rather than carrying around the old ones we used to endure.
Because of these trendy bags, the books of our “very eager to learn” children often suffer more than before. The traditional way of covering books with sticky plastic and folding them is no longer practical—it takes too much precious time. Kids have more important things to do! With a fancy Pokémon, Vogue, or graphic design cover, it’s impossible to see what book it really is. Adding labels is even more work! They want to go out, catch Pokémon, or hang out with friends. Covering school books needs to be faster and more efficient.
The transparent book covers from Packlinq solve all these impractical issues. The books are covered with crystal-clear plastic, making it easy to see which book is which, and the covers are ready to go. No more struggling with scissors, tape, or being short-handed. Simply slide the books into the covers, and the job is done! What a handy innovation. Check out our how-to video to see the process in action. I finished quickly this year, freeing up more time to relax with friends.
Packlinq wishes everyone an instructive, practical, and successful school year. Do your best, and don’t be too hard on yourselves!
